Getting to Catalina Island:
From Long Beach, San Pedro, Newport Beach, or Dana Point. Helicopter, boat, plane.
Airport: Airport in the sky located about 10 miles from Avalon. Asphalt paved runway is 3250 feet long. The airport is owned and operated by Catalina Island Conservancy. They do charge landing fee to use the facility. Overnight tie-downs are available. The Conservancy also operates the shuttle service between the airport and Avalon.
